Reducing red tape

One of the major changes to the new system is the reduced complexity of administrative responsibilities for services. Some services currently deal with multiple layers of regulation across governments and sectors.

Services will now deal with one organisation for regulation. State and territory governments will administer and enforce the National Quality Framework. There will also be a consistent fee structure for all services.

Another key objective of the changes is streamlining education and care in early childhood to achieve consistent results. This is why long day care and preschool (or kindergarten or pre-prep) will have the same requirements against the new National Standard, for all children in the year before full-time school.
