Family Assistance Office

The Family Assistance Office delivers a range of payments, on behalf of a number of government departments, to support families with their work and family responsibilities. This gives Australian families better access to government services. Instead of going to different agencies, families are able to get all their family assistance payments from one place—the Family Assistance Office.
Family Assistance Offices are located in over 550 locations across Australia and can be found in:

  • Medicare Offices
  • Centrelink Customer Service Centres.

Online services are also available through the Family Assistance Office website. The Family Assistance Office provides financial assistance and information to families. The available payments are:

  • Family Tax Benefit Part A
  • Family Tax Benefit Part B
  • Child Care Benefit
  • Child Care Rebate
  • Jobs, Education and Training Child Care fee assistance (JETCCFA)
  • Baby Bonus
  • Maternity Immunisation Allowance
  • Rent Assistance.

The Family Assistance Office can also:

  • answer questions about these payments from simple to complex
  • assist with income estimation
  • help you lodge forms for any of the family assistance payments
  • help you choose a payment option that best suits your circumstances
  • advise you on what to do if your circumstances change
