Jobs, Education and Training Child Care fee
assistance
What is Jobs, Education and Training Child Care fee
assistance?
Jobs, Education and Training (JET) Child Care fee
assistance is a payment to help you with the
cost of approved child care if you are on an eligible income support payment . It can help meet the cost of care by paying most of the "gap fee" - that
is, the difference between the full fee you are charged
and the Child Care Benefit you receive - while you participate in work, study or
training activities.
Am I eligible for Jobs, Education and Training Child
Care fee assistance?
This assistance is available to you if you use approved child care to
undertake activities such as work, study, training or
job search as part of an Employment Pathway Plan
(formerly activity agreement), to help you enter or
re-enter the workforce.
This payment is only available to you if you are
receiving maximum rate of Child Care Benefit and receive
an eligible Centrelink payment.
If you receive this fee assistance you still need to
pay a small co-contribution to your child care service
for care you use. If you use more hours than you are
entitled to, you will have to pay the full cost for
these additional hours.
