Where to get started?
If you've decided that you would like to use child care but don't know where
to start, here are some helpful hints.
- Choose the child care option that is right for you.
There are many different types of child care available, so it is important to
find one that best suits your family situation. Talk to family and friends about
what has worked for them.
We have provided some information on the different types of
early childhood learning and care options available. Once you have decided
on the type of care you would like, you can search for an approved child care
service through the
Find a Local Child Care Centre
feature on this site.
- Contact a child care service
When you have decided which child care centre you would like to use, you should
call the service to find out about enrolment and fees.
- Apply for Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate
Once you have enrolled your child with a child care centre, you can apply online
for Child Care Benefit and
Child Care Rebate, through the Family Assistance Office
Online Services site.
Details on these payments can be found on this site or at the
Family Assistance Office website or call 13 61 50.
