Announcement of successful organisations to deliver the Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) in 15 new locations in 2011.

The Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters now available to more families.

The Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) will be operating in 50 communities around Australia in 2011. The program is already operating in 35 locations and next year will be available to families in another 15 communities.

What is the Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters?

HIPPY is a free, two-year home-based program that provides parents with a home tutor, books and other educational resources to help them prepare their children for school. The program offers pre-school children a better start in life by helping parents to improve their child's school readiness.

The program also offers some parents a supported pathway to community leadership and employment.

For further information about the program, including a list of the areas where the program will be delivered, visit the HIPPY Australia website.
